What is a Retreat?

Retreat is an invitation for everybody who is interested to find inner peace, joy, contentment and love. The whole point of a retreat is to get away from shopping and traffic jams, newspapers and televisions, phone calls and Internet, and the whole normal busy-ness of everyday life.

We live in a world that seems to get faster and busier with every passing year. With our working lives and urban lifestyles increasingly characterised by stress – a Retreat is a chance to step back, to gain some distance and another perspective on our lives, to be conscious and find some peace and love, rest and serenity, breathe and space.

Even a short retreat gives us a special opportunity to withdraw from the bustle of life. It is a chance to take stock, to live more simply for a time and regain the initiative that we may have lost from our lives.

By spending some time in a beautiful and tranquil environment, away from our usual habits and commitments, eating good vegetarian food, walking in the nature, silently meditating, plunging into a swimming pool and taking advantage of a treatment, we can refresh ourselves profoundly.

Companionship with like-minded people can help us to gain a taste of spiritual community - caring for each other and ourselves in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect. It’s great to be with other people at their best!
